Up For A Challenge #7 - Cutting the Cord

This week we're cutting the cord from cable! Adam is challenged to use Pluto TV and we catch up with what the gang has been doing since the break.

Up For A Challenge is back on Assembler FM! This week we're cutting the cord from cable... or are we? Adam is challenged to use Pluto TV and we catch up with what the gang has been doing since the break. Lots of things are discussed, including  Rejection Therapy, bottomless mimosas, Cricket Comics, and why scissors are for losers in Rock, Paper, Scissors.

We're still waiting on Google to process the video podcast. In the meantime, here is the audio podcast, full of extra stuff from before and after the show!

Rejection Therapy is a personal experiment I devised in 2009. I personally experimented with the concept for a year and released the game to the public in October 2010.

You can think of it as game, but this game involves your life and the treasures are real. The five objectives of Rejection Therapy are:

  1. To be more aware of how irrational social fears control and restrict our lives

  2. Smash the tyranny of fear and reap the treasures (treasures include wealth, relationships and self-confidence)

  3. Learn from, and even enjoy rejection

  4. To not be attached to outcomes, especially when it involves the free agency of other people

  5. Permit yourself to fail

            How Pluto TV works

▼    ❑    Much of the content comes from YouTube—you can tell from the watermarks at the start of each video—with contributions from smaller sites like Vimeo and DailyMotion. In some cases, Pluto.TV also makes direct content deals with media properties, such as Maker Studios, Bloomberg TV, and Funny Or Die, Pluto CEO Tom Ryan recently told me. Hulu is just the latest (and the largest).
